Everton entertained Arsenal at Goodison Park earlier today as they hoped to earn maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Toffees made a good start to the game and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
James Tarkowski finally opened the goal-scoring in the 60th minute which proved to be the only goal of the game as Sean Dyche’s men ended up earning a hard-fought 1-0 win in front of their home supporters.

GK: Jordan Pickford – 7/10
The English keeper made a few crucial saves at the back and earned a well-deserved clean sheet at Goodison Park.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 7.5/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the pitch and had a couple of bright moments in the opponent’s half.
CB: Conor Coady – 7/10
Coady made a couple of important defensive contributions and did enough to keep the opposition attackers at bay.
CB: James Tarkowski – 8/10
The English talent earned the ball back twice and cleared the danger when required. He scored the only goal of the game at the hour mark.
LB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 7/10
Mykolenko performed his defensive duties well and lacked quality in the opponent’s half.
RM: Dwight McNeil – 8/10
He came back to defend when needed and engineered some meaningful chances in the final third. McNeil picked up an assist for setting up Tarkowski’s match-winner in the second half.
CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 6.5/10
Doucoure earned the ball back twice and was full of energy and running at the centre of the park. However, he failed to threaten the Arsenal goal.
CM: Idrissa Gueye – 6.5/10
He anchored the midfield well at times but struggled to influence the game going forward.
CM: Amadou Onana – 7.5/10
Onana didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and orchestrated a couple of decent chances on the attacking end of the pitch.
LM: Alex Iwobi – 7.5/10
He caused a lot of problems for the Arsenal defenders and came back to help his teammates out at the back.
ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6.5/10
The English forward made two encouraging runs with the ball but wasted some inviting chances to find the back of the net.
