Liverpool locked horns with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result away from home. The Reds made a good start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 30th-minute courtesy of Harvey Elliott’s tidy finish. However, Lewis Dunk equalised for the Seagulls just nine minutes later as the two teams went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.

The Merseyside club were solid for most of the second half but conceded a late goal as Kaoru Mitoma found the back of the net with a great finish. The contest ended with Liverpool suffering a poor 2-1 loss at the Amex Stadium.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player fared during the match against the Seagulls.

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

The Brazilian keeper made a few important saves at the back but still conceded two goals today.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6/10

The English full-back created some decent chances in the final third but was far from convincing when defending inside his half.

CB: Joe Gomez – 5.5/10

Gomez struggled to cope with the pace of the Brighton attacks and sold himself short in the lead-up to Mitoma’s late winner.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 6.5/10

He made a handful of crucial clearances at the back but won’t be happy after conceding two goals during the game.

LB: Andrew Robertson – 6/10

He was average at best when defending inside his half and offered very little going forward.

CM: Naby Keita – 6/10

Keita had some lively moments in the final third but failed to register a goal.

CM: Stefan Bajcetic – 6.5/10

He got stuck in with some solid tackles but struggled to influence the game in the Brighton half.

CM: Thiago Alcantara – 6.5/10

The Spaniard earned the ball back twice and made a couple of decent runs with the ball.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 6.5/10

He was a threat in the final third and has got an assist to show for his efforts. However, Salah wasted a glorious chance to score in the first half.

ST: Cody Gakpo – 6.5/10

Gakpo linked up play well with others around him but struggled to threaten the Brighton goal.

LW: Harvey Elliott – 7.5/10

Elliott got himself into some dangerous areas and kept his composure to score the opening goal with a decent finish.

RB: James Milner – 6.5/10

He was solid at the back and made one good chance going forward.

CM: Jordan Henderson – 5.5/10

Henderson struggled to get into the rhythm of the game.

LW: Darwin Nunez – 6/10

He added some pace to Klopp’s attack.

CM: Curtis Jones – 6/10

Jones offered very little after coming off the bench.

CM: Fabinho – 6/10

He hardly had any time to influence the game.
