Liverpool locked horns with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result away from home. The Reds made a good start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 30th-minute courtesy of Harvey Elliott’s tidy finish. However, Lewis Dunk equalised for the Seagulls just nine minutes later as the two teams went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.
The Merseyside club were solid for most of the second half but conceded a late goal as Kaoru Mitoma found the back of the net with a great finish. The contest ended with Liverpool suffering a poor 2-1 loss at the Amex Stadium.
