Liverpool will clash heads with Leicester City as they welcome them to Anfield on Friday evening hoping to grab their third successive victory. The Reds recorded a splendid 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on boxing day while the visitors succumbed to a 3-0 defeat by a rampant Newcastle United.

Liverpool Vs Leicester City: Talking Tactics

Jurgen Klopp will go with the conventional 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to the starting XI for this home encounter. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will drop to the bench as he makes way for Fabio Carvalho in the final third.

Brendan Rodgers will probably opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this away encounter. Jamie Vardy could feature from the start as Patson Daka takes a spot on the bench to provide cover.

Team News

Liverpool

The Reds will remain without the services of Arthur, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz for the long term, while Roberto Firmino is also unlikely to recover from his calf injury just yet. Apart from this Jurgen Klopp will have the rest of the team fully fit and available for selection. The Merseyside club are short on attacking options, so any more injuries in the attacking department could deal a huge blow which might create immense trouble for Klopp until Cody Gakpo’s imminent arrival.

Liverpool Predicted XI

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Thiago, Fabinho, Elliott; Salah, Nunez, Carvalho

Leicester City

The Foxes have been handed fresh injury concerns as Dennis Praet, who had just recovered, succumbed to an injury in the first half of his last outing against the Magpies. Brendan Rodgers also remains without the services of  Ryan Bertrand, Ricardo Pereira, James Justin, Jonny Evans and James Maddison, whose knee injury is causing him trouble once again.

Leicester City Predicted XI

Ward; Castagne, Amartey, Faes, Thomas; Ndidi, Tielemans; Perez, Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes; Vardy
