Everton faced off against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result in the third round of the EFL Cup. The Toffees made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the seventh minute when Jamal Lowe scored for the home team. Frank Lampard’s men failed to come up with a response and were trailing 1-0 at the half-time break.

Junior Stanislas made it 2-0 to Bournemouth just two minutes into the second half. However, Demarai Gray pulled a goal back in the 67th minute. The Cherries grew in confidence and scored two quick-fire goals via Emiliano Marcondes’ finish and Jaidon Anthony’s goal. The contest ended with Everton suffering a humiliating 4-1 defeat on the road which knocked them out of the EFL Cup.

Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the match against the Cherries.

GK: Asmir Begovic – 5.5/10

He made a few solid saves at the back and won’t be pleased after conceding four goals during the game.

CB: Michael Keane – 5.5/10

The English defender was strong in the air but looked far from convincing when defending inside his half.

CB: Yerry Mina – 6/10

Mina won his fair share of aerial duels but failed to stop the home side from scoring four times tonight.

CB: Mason Holgate – 6.5/10

He earned the ball back a few times and was mostly solid during his time on the field. Holgate got replaced in the 50th minute.
