West Ham United locked horns with Liverpool at Anfield earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result on their travels. The Hammers made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 22nd minute when Darwin Nunez scored with a good header. Jarrod Bowen missed a penalty later in the first half as the East London club went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

David Moyes’ men failed to mount a comeback in the second 45 minutes and crashed to a 1-0 defeat away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each West Ham United player fared during the match against the Reds.

GK: Łukasz Fabiański – 7/10

The Polish keeper made a few important saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet.

RB: Ben Johnson – 6.5/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive third of the field and made a few decent runs with the ball down the right flank.

CB: Kurt Zouma – 6.5/10

Zouma made a few crucial contributions inside his half but didn’t do enough to keep Darwin Nunez quiet.

CB: Thilo Kehrer – 6/10

He made a lot of crucial clearances inside his half and was accurate with his passing.

RM: Flynn Downes – 6/10

It was a learning experience for him at Anfield tonight. He failed to impress and got replaced in the 73rd minute.

CM: Tomas Soucek – 7/10

Soucek got stuck in with a lot of crunching tackles but missed a golden chance to equalise for West Ham in the second half.

CM: Declan Rice – 7/10

He worked defensively and had two lively moments in the Liverpool half.

LM: Pablo Fornals – 6/10

The Spanish sensation completed a couple of impressive dribbles but failed to threaten the opposition goal.

ST: Gianluca Scamacca – 6/10

The Italian striker was quiet for most of the game and struggled to take any of his chances.

ST: Jarrod Bowen – 6.5/10

He caused a lot of headaches for the opposition but missed a penalty which ultimately cost his team the result.

LW: Said Benrahma – 6/10

He was willing to run with the ball but lacked quality in the final third.

ST: Michail Antonio – 6/10

Antonio made some driving runs with the ball but never looked like he would score.
