Manchester City will entertain Southampton at the Etihad Stadium earlier this afternoon as they looked to earn all three points in front of their home supporters. The Mancunian giants made an excellent start to the game and took the lead in the 20th minute courtesy of Joao Cancelo’s brilliant run and finish. Phil Foden doubled Man City’s advantage with a great finish just 12 minutes later as Pep Guardiola’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Riyad Mahrez made the points secure for the Mancunian club just four minutes into the second half before Erling Haaland got his name on the scoresheet as well in the 65th minute. Man City ended up cruising to a dominant 4-0 win at home.

The Brazilian keeper didn’t have a save to make in the game and secured an easy clean sheet at the Etihad Stadium.
RB: Manuel Akanji – 7.5/10
Akanji gave a good account of himself when defending inside his half and had a couple of bright moments in the final third.
CB: Nathan Ake – 7/10
He kept things solid at the back and did enough to secure the clean sheet.
CB: Ruben Dias – 7/10
The Portuguese sensation earned the ball back twice and was tidy with his passing.
LB: Joao Cancelo – 9/10
Cancelo didn’t put a foot wrong on the defensive end of the field and created some decent chances in the final third. He scored a brilliant goal to open the goal-scoring for Man City.
CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7.5/10
The Belgian international engineered some meaningful chances in the opponent’s half and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
CM: Rodri – 8/10
Rodri got stuck in with some solid tackles and made two good chances in the opponent’s half.
CM: Bernardo Silva – 7/10
He worked hard at both ends of the field but failed to register a goal.
RW: Riyad Mahrez – 8/10
Mahrez was a constant menace in the final third and did well to put the game to bed by scoring in the 49th minute.
ST: Erling Haaland – 8/10
The in-form Norwegian striker was unfortunate to hit the post in the first half but came back stronger and managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 65th minute.
LW: Phil Foden – 8.5/10
Foden doubled Man City’s advantage with a clinical finish just after the half-hour mark. He has also got an assist to show for his efforts.
