Chelsea entertained Leicester City at Stamford Bridge earlier today as they hoped to pick up maximum points at home. The Blues made a good start to the game but found themselves at a numerical disadvantage as Conor Gallagher was sent off in the 28th minute. However, they managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Raheem Sterling opened the goal-scoring in the 47th minute before going on to score again just 16 minutes later as the ten-men of Chelsea raced to a 2-0 advantage. However, Harvey Barnes got a goal back for Leicester with a superb strike in the 66th minute. Thomas Tuchel’s men showed some grit to hang on to their narrow lead and secured an impressive 2-1 win in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the match against the Foxes.

GK: Edouard Mendy – 7.5/10

The Blues’ goalie made a few important saves and did enough to restrict the opposition to just one goal.

CB: Reece James – 8/10

He was solid when defending inside his half and engineered two key chances in the final third.

CB: Thiago Silva – 7.5/10

Silva cleared the danger when needed and did well to get over the line with the win in the bag.

CB: Trevoh Chalobah – 6.5/10

He made a few clearances at the back and was tidy with his passing.

CM: Jorginho – 6.5/10

The Italy international got stuck in with some solid tackles and was tidy with his passing.

He was a bit too aggressive with his tackles and let his teammates down by getting sent off in the 28th minute.

LM: Marc Cucurella – 7/10

The Spaniard performed his defensive duties well and ended the game with an assist to his name.

ST: Kai Havertz – 6/10

The German talent had to do a lot of defending but offered very little in the final third.

ST: Raheem Sterling – 8/10

The English speedster scored two quick-fire goals in the second half which was enough for the Blues to seal the win.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6/10

Kovacic added some energy to Chelsea’s midfield.

ST: Christian Pulisic – 6/10

He struggled to get into the game.
