Newcastle United welcomed Arsenal at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home. The Magpies made a bright start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at half-time.

The Tyneside outfit finally managed to break the deadlock in the 55th minute when Ben White scored an unfortunate own goal. Bruno Guimaraes ended up making the points secure for the home side in the 85th minute when he scored with an easy finish. The contest ended with the Magpies securing an impressive 2-0 win in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle player performed during the clash against the Gunners.

GK: Martin Dubravka – 7/10

Dubravka made a couple of decent saves during the game and secured a comfortable clean sheet at home.

RB: Emil Krafth – 7/10

He performed his defensive duties well and made one key chance in the opponent’s half.

CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10

Schar made some important defensive contributions but could last only 48 minutes.

CB: Dan Burn – 7/10

He cleared the danger when needed and did enough to restrict the Arsenal attackers from scoring tonight.

Longstaff got stuck in with some solid tackles and engineered two good opportunities in the final third.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 8.5/10
