Manchester City are set to face West Ham United at the London Stadium this Sunday afternoon as they look to take the three points and get themselves one step closer to the Premier League title.

The Sky blues managed to pick up a dominant 5-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek and they look to continue on the momentum for the upcoming encounter.

The Hammers on the other side managed to secure a 4-0 win over Norwich City last Sunday, so they will fancy their chances of causing an upset against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Team News

Manchester City

Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker and John Stones remained sidelined for the season before Laporte injured his knee in an awkward collision with Ruben Jimenez in the midweek clash with the Wolves. Fernandinho was then forced off with a muscle problem as they emerged victoriously.

Pep Guardiola will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation with changes in the Heart of the Sky blues’ backline. Nathan Ake and Rodri would cover for Laporte and Diaz in the defence.

Manchester City Predicted XI

Ederson; Cancelo, Rodri, Ake, Zinchenko; Silva, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Sterling, Foden

West Ham United

The hosts are positive about Dawson and Antonio’s chances of being fit, but Benrahma will require further assessment although he is highly likely to appear in the matchday squad, while Angelo Ogbonna remains out for the remainder of the season.

Ben Johnson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Nikola Vlasic are all on reserves, should David Moyes make use of their services, while Issa Diop should be fit enough for first-team selection.

David Moyes will probably opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with minor tweaks from the last match.

West Ham United Predicted XI

Fabianski; Coufal, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Benrahma, Lanzini, Fornals; Bowen

Key Men

Manchester City

Guardiola’s midfield comprising of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva will be tasked with dominating the ball collectively and creating enough clear-cut chances to win this contest.

Raheem Sterling could get a chance to lead the line for Man City down the middle. He managed to net a goal in his last league outing which will keep him in high spirits ahead of this game.

West Ham United

Łukasz Fabiański will feature in between the sticks, he will have to give a strong performance if the Hammers hope to stop the Mancunian giants on their tracks.

Declan Rice will anchor the midfield alongside Tomas Soucek as they focus on stopping the opposition from creating too many chances with their passing.

Jarrod Bowen will lead the charge for West Ham up top, carrying most of the goal-scoring responsibilities.
