West Ham United welcomed Manchester City at the London Stadium earlier today as they looked to grind out a good result at home. The Hammers made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 24th minute courtesy of Jarrod Bowen’s tidy finish. The English speedster doubled West Ham’s advantage just before the half-time break with a great strike.
Man City came roaring back in the second half and managed to get a goal back courtesy of Jack Grealish’s deflected attempt in the 49th minute. Vladimir Coufal scored an unfortunate own goal in the 69th minute which leveled the scoreline at 2-2. The match ended with David Moyes’ men earning a hard-fought 2-2 draw in the English capital.

The experienced goalie made a few excellent saves during the game and even managed to stop Riyad Mahrez’s penalty late in the match.
RB: Vladimír Coufal – 5/10
He had some nervy moments when defending inside his half and was guilty of scoring an own goal in the second half which cost his team the win.
CB: Craig Dawson – 6/10
Dawson was strong in the air and made a lot of important clearances at the back. However, he couldn’t stop Man City from scoring twice in the second half.
CB: Kurt Zouma – 6.5/10
The Frenchman cleared his lines when required and was accurate with his ball distribution.
LB: Aaron Cresswell – 6.5/10
He made a lot of important defensive contributions but offered very little going forward.
CM: Tomas Soucek – 6.5/10
Soucek came back to clear the danger when Man City were on the front foot. He also made one key chance in the final third.
CM: Declan Rice – 7.5/10
Rice anchored the West Ham midfield with conviction but failed to influence the game in the opposition half.
RW: Jarrod Bowen – 8.5/10
The English wing wizard was unstoppable in the first half as he scored two fine goals to put his team up 2-0 at half-time. However, he missed a great chance to grab his hat-trick in the second half.
CAM: Manuel Lanzini – 6.5/10
He earned the ball back a few times but lacked quality in the final third.
LW: Pablo Fornals – 7/10
The Spaniard picked up an assist for setting up Bowen’s opener. He made a positive impact in both halves.
ST: Michail Antonio – 7.5/10
Antonio made a handful of decent runs with the ball but missed a glorious chance to score in the second half.
