Chelsea entertained Leicester City at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they looked to earn maximum points at home. The Blues made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the sixth minute when James Maddison scored with an excellent finish. However, the home team equalised via Marcos Alonso’s volley in the 34th minute. Chelsea were being held 1-1 at half-time.
Both sides fought tooth and nail in the second half as Chelsea ended up frustrated after only managing to secure a 1-1 draw at the full-time whistle.

GK: Edouard Mendy – 6/10
The Senegal international didn’t have a save to make in the game but couldn’t do much about Maddison’s early strike.
CB: Trevoh Chalobah – 6.5/10
He made a couple of important defensive contributions and was a threat at the other end of the field.
CB: Thiago Silva – 6.5/10
The Brazilian centre-back earned the ball back a couple of times and cleared his lines when needed.
CB: Antonio Rudiger – 6/10
The German centre-back made one crucial interception and was tidy with his passing.
RM: Reece James – 8/10
James made a few excellent runs with the ball and picked up an assist for setting up Alonso’s equaliser.
CM: Jorginho – 7/10
The Italy international anchored the midfield well and created some decent chances in the final third.
CM: N’Golo Kante – 7/10
Kane secured the ball back a few times for his team in midfield and made one key chance in the Leicester half.
LM: Marcos Alonso – 7.5/10
Alonso equalised for Chelsea with a good finish in the 34th minute. He also engineered a couple of inviting opportunities for others around him.
RAM: Hakim Ziyech – 7.5/10
He was a constant menace in the attacking end of the pitch and did everything but score tonight.
LAM: Christian Pulisic – 6/10
Pulisic made two decent runs in the opponent’s half but there was no goal for him.
ST: Romelu Lukaku – 6/10
Lukaku had a few bright moments but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
RM: Cesar Azpilicueta – 7/10
The Spaniard completed a few energetic dribbles with the ball.
CM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6/10
He had some lively moments after coming off the bench.
ST: Kai Havertz – 5.5/10
Havertz didn’t get a sniff at goal.
