Barcelona locked horns with Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena earlier tonight as they hoped to secure all three points on the road. The Catalan outfit made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 11th minute courtesy of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal. Barca sat on their lead well and went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.

Both sides canceled each other out in the second 45 minutes as the contest finished with Xavi’s men securing a narrow 1-0 victory away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player performed during the contest against Real Sociedad.

GK: Marc-André ter Stegen – 7.5/10

The German keeper made a handful of important saves at the back and secured a well-deserved clean sheet on the road.

RB: Dani Alves – 7/10

Alves performed his defensive duties well and made two good chances in the opposition half.

CB: Ronald Araujo – 7/10

He made a lot of crucial clearances inside his half and even earned the ball back a couple of times for his team. However, Araujo got replaced in the 54th minute.

CB: Gerard Pique – 7.5/10

Pique cleared the danger when needed and was strong in the air as well.

LB: Jordi Alba – 6.5/10

He was solid at the back but offered very little in the final third.

CM: Gavi – 7/10

Gavi protected his backline well and had a few lively moments in the attacking end of the field.

CM: Sergio Busquets – 7.5/10

The Spanish talent anchored the midfield with a lot of conviction and engineered one decent chance in the final third.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 7.5/10

He got stuck in with some solid tackles and orchestrated a few inviting opportunities for others around him. De Jong even made a couple of intelligent runs with the ball.

RW: Ousmane Dembele – 6.5/10

The French speedster was unfortunate to hit the post with his early attempt. He was lackluster in the final third tonight.

ST: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 7/10

The former Arsenal striker deserves credit for scoring the only goal of this game in the 11th minute. However, his impact on the game was minimal for the remainder of the contest.

LW: Ferran Torres – 7.5/10

He picked up an assist for setting up Aubameyang’s goal. Torres caused a few problems for the opposition but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

Substitutes:

CB: Eric Garcia – 6.5/10

Garcia kept things tidy when defending inside his half.

RB: Serginio Dest – 6/10

He got stuck in with a couple of tackles.

CB: Clement Lenglet – N/A

Lenglet cleared his lines when the home team were trying everything to score the leveler in the latter stages of the game.

ST: Luuk de Jong – N/A

He hardly had any time to make an impact.
