Real Madrid entertained Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to defend a 3-1 lead from the first leg. Los Blancos made a sloppy start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 15th minute when Mason Mount found the back of the net. The Madrid giants failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Antonio Rudiger made it 2-0 to the Blues just six minutes into the second half with a powerful header. Real Madrid crumbled under the pressure and shipped in another goal in the 75th minute when Timo Werner got his name on the scoresheet. However, Rodrygo leveled the tie (4-4 on aggregate) just five minutes later which took the game to extra time.

Karim Benzema scored for Los Blancos in the 96th minute with a good finish. Carlo Ancelotti’s men defended their lead well in extra time and managed to grind out a 5-4 win on aggregate which ensured their place in the semifinal stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player performed during the clash against the Blues.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – 6.5/10

The Belgian keeper made a few solid saves but will be disappointed after conceding three goals during the 90 minutes. However, he did enough to keep a clean sheet in extra-time.

RB: Dani Carvajal – 7/10

The Spaniard earned possession back a couple of times and put his foot through the ball when needed. He even had a couple of lively moments in the final third.

CB: Nacho – 6/10

He made some important defensive contributions at the back and was tidy with his passing.

CB: David Alaba – 6/10

Alaba got stuck in with some solid tackles and won some crucial aerial duels. However, he won’t be pleased after allowing three goals in normal time.

RW: Federico Valverde – 6/10

Valverde struggled to make an impact in the final third but deserves credit for working hard on the right flank.

The French striker was a constant menace on the attacking end of the field. He was unfortunate to hit the post but made amends later by scoring the decisive goal in extra time.

LW: Vinicius Junior – 7/10
