Manchester City and Liverpool will meet again on Saturday in an eagerly anticipated FA Cup semi-final showdown.

Less than a week after their 2-2 draw in the Premier League, the two best teams in Premier League travel to Wembley looking to book their place in next month’s FA Cup final against either Chelsea or Crystal Palace.

Having already claimed the Carabao Cup this season, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool remain in the hope of a quadruple, while Pep Guardiola and City are still on track for a treble. The fans might see them clash again, as both have managed to qualify for the semifinal of the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester City Vs Liverpool: Talking Tactics

Pep Guardiola will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could ask his players to keep a balance in possession and defend well before trying to catch the Liverpool defenders off-guard on the counter to create opportunities for the men up front.

Jurgen Klopp will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and will instruct his men to dominate the game and create enough chances in the final third as he usually does.

Team News

Jurgen Klopp could rotate his line-up with a full complement of options against Manchester City, with no injury concerns reported for the Reds ahead of the game. Diogo Jota is the only one remaining doubtful due to a knock against Benfica.

Liverpool Predicted XI

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Mane, Diaz

Manchester City

The sky Blues were at war against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night and did not come out unscathed. Phil Foden’s bandaged head was evidence of that and Guardiola also lost Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne to injuries, with the former picking up a sprained ankle while De Bruyne required stitches on his calf. Ruben Dias has recovered and has been unused as a substitute the last week, so he could come off the bench in this encounter. Joao Cancelo could switch flanks as Nathan Ake goes to the left.

Manchester City Predicted XI

Ederson; Cancelo, Stones, Laporte, Ake; Silva, Rodri, Gundogan; Sterling, Jesus, Foden

Key Men

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will be expected to cause lots of problems in the wide areas of the opposition half. Both Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will look to flank the opposition to put in efficient crosses from the wide areas, while Thiago will be tasked with distributing the ball.

Manchester City

Sterling will carry most of the goal-scoring workload for City up top. Both Stones and Laporte will need to be at the top of their game if they look to overthrow Liverpool and secure their place in the finals.
