Real Madrid clashed heads with Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica earlier today as they focused on collecting maximum points on the road. Los Blancos had some bright moments in the first half but struggled to be clinical in the final third as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Both teams tried their best to get the better of each other in the second half but the contest ended with Carlo Ancelotti’s men being held to a scoreless draw away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player performed during the clash against Villarreal.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – 7/10

The Belgian keeper made a couple of decent saves at the back and secured a solid clean sheet today.

RB: Dani Carvajal – 7/10

He was defensively solid and made one good chance in the final third.

CB: Eder Militao – 7.5/10

Militao made plenty of crucial clearances at the back and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring during the 90 minutes.

CB: David Alaba – 6.5/10

He dealt with the danger when required and performed well enough to earn the shutout.

LB: Marcelo – 6.5/10

Marcelo engineered a couple of inviting chances for his teammates and made a good block at the back. He was replaced in the 82nd minute.

CM: Toni Kroos – 7/10

The German sensation made some meaningful openings for his teammates to score. However, he didn’t do enough to find the back of the net himself.

CM: Casemiro – 7/10

The Brazilian protected his backline well and was quite lively with the ball at his feet.

CM: Federico Valverde – 6/10

He struggled to get a foothold in the game and got substituted in the 77th minute.

RW: Marco Asensio – 7/10

The Spaniard did his fair share of defending and fashioned a few inviting chances for others around him.

ST: Gareth Bale – 6/10

Bale was always willing to have a strike at goal but was not clinical in the final third.

LW: Vinicius Junior – 7/10

He caused all sorts of problems for the opposition with his creativity and dribbling. However, the Brazilian failed to find the back of the net.

ST: Luka Jovic – 6/10

He had one lively moment but didn’t do enough to score.

CM: Luka Modric – 6/10

Modric struggled to get into the flow of the game.

RW: Rodrygo – 6/10

He offered very little after coming off the bench.

LW: Eden Hazard – 6.5/10

Hazard had two bright moments in the opposition half.

CB: Nacho – N/A

He didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
