Everton faced off against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they looked to secure maximum points on the road. The Toffees did well to take the lead in the 36th minute courtesy of Jamaal Lascelles’ own goal. However, Mason Holgate found the back of his own net as well just one minute later as the two sides went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
The Merseyside conceded again in the 56th minute when Michael Keane made a poor mistake which led to Ryan Fraser finding the back of the net. Frank Lampard’s men failed to come up with a response and shipped in their third goal in the 80th minute when Kieran Trippier scored a brilliant free-kick. The match ended with the Toffees suffering a poor 3-1 defeat on their travels.
