Manchester City will lock horns with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon hoping to pick up another victory and continue their relentless march towards the Premier League title. Man City managed to secure a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton in their last domestic game, so they will fancy their chances of earning another three points versus the Foxes this weekend.
Pep Guardiola will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could make a few changes to his first-team for this clash on the road. Joao Cancelo, John Stones and Rodri are expected to be named in Man City’s starting XI at the expense of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Aymeric Laporte and Fernandinho.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
Ederson will lineup in between the sticks for the Mancunian giants after keeping a clean sheet against Borussia Mönchengladbach in his last outing. John Stones will partner Ruben Dias at the centre of Guardiola’s defence as they try to stop Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy from finding the back of the net during the 90 minutes.
Kyle Walker will probably get the nod to start at right-back while Joao Cancelo fills in on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will look to cause a few problems for the Foxes full-backs with their overlapping runs out on the wide areas.
Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko will be named on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
The Man City midfield will be comprised of Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri and Bernardo Silva as they focus on dominating the battle at the centre of the park and create some decent chances to score in the final third.
Fernandinho will drop to the bench but could come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Raheem Sterling will hope to put his pace to good use down the left flank while Riyad Mahrez looks to produce another influential display on the right. Kevin De Bruyne could get the responsibility to fill in as a makeshift centre-forward. The Belgian international managed to get his name on the scoresheet versus Everton in the FA Cup, so he will be eager to put on another productive performance this weekend.
Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to shine as the impact substitutes if Guardiola decides to call upon their services.
