Leeds United will welcome Sheffield United at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon as they try to secure a win at home. The Whites managed to pick up an impressive 2-1 victory over Fulham in their last league outing which will keep them in high spirits heading into this league encounter versus the Blades.

Marcelo Bielsa will stick with his preferred 4-1-4-1 formation and is expected to name the same side that started versus the Cottagers before the international break. However, both Patrick Bamford and Liam Cooper are major doubts for this game and will be in a race against time to be fit this weekend.

Illan Meslier will feature in goal for the Whites after he conceded one goal against Fulham in his last league appearance. Diego Llorente will once again feature alongside Pascal Struijk at the heart of the Leeds backline as they try to restrict the Blades from scoring during the 90 minutes.

Luke Ayling will operate as the right-back while Ezgjan Alioski looks to impress on the other flank at the left-back position. Bielsa will ask his full-backs to be a bit more adventurous than usual so that they can stretch the Blades defence and create some meaningful openings for Leeds’ frontmen inside the penalty box.

Kalvin Phillips will anchor the Leeds midfield as he looks to disrupt the opposition’s rhythm in the game. Tyler Roberts and Stuart Dallas will operate just ahead of the English talent and assume the role of the box to box midfielders.

Jack Harrison will be given the freedom to express himself down the left flank while Raphinha looks to produce a productive display from the right-wing. Both of them will carry most of the creative workload for the Whites this weekend.

Mateusz Klich will be available for selection on the bench and could come on to make an impact in the second half if needed.

As mentioned earlier, Patrick Bamford is a significant concern for this game as he is still recovering from a calf injury. The English striker will probably be named as the centre-forward if he can pass a late fitness test.
