According to a recent report by El Desmarque (translated by talkSPORT), Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of Real Madrid star Isco. The same source has also claimed that Los Blancos are set to demand around €70m (£59m) for their prized asset so the Reds would probably have to stretch their financial muscle if they want to land him next summer.
Isco’s Poor Form At The Spanish Capital
The Spanish midfielder has endured a frustrating campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium so far as he has struggled to be productive in the final third. Isco has scored just one goal in 17 appearances for the Galacticos this season in all competitions. To his credit, he has averaged 0.9 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game in the La Liga this term (stats via whoscored).
The ex-Malaga prospect has also secured 38 senior caps for the Spanish national team and has registered 12 goals for his country thus far in his international career. Even though he has failed to find his form in this campaign, the Reds could benefit from acquiring a player of Isco’s skillset next summer.

On his day, Isco can be a game-changer for his team but those days have been few and far between at Madrid this season. The Spaniard shows terrific balance and close-control when dribbling with the ball in the opposition half. He excels at running at the opposition defenders and is a potent threat from long range.
Isco’s addition will undoubtedly add a lot of quality to the Liverpool midfield but his poor form this season will be a cause for concern for any of his potential suitors. Klopp could turn out to be the perfect manager to get the best out of the Spanish playmaker as he has done with many of his current Liverpool players.
Therefore, it is a move that makes sense for both the player and the club. Isco is a midfielder who will not only add more goals and creativity to the Reds midfield but will also increase the overall depth of Klopp’s squad at Anfield.
