Real Madrid will be hoping to bounce back from their miserable run of form. Los Blancos lost consecutive matches against Girona in the La Liga and against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League recently.
Madrid will feel the heat when they host Las Palmas this weekend. The defending champions have already fallen much behind league leaders Barcelona as they are eight points adrift of the Catalans.
They suffered a shock defeat to Girona as they succumbed to the Catalans minnows. It would be seen as one of the heaviest defeats in Real Madrid’s history as Girona probably wouldn’t have imagined this kind of result. Predicted 4-3-1-2 Real Madrid Starting Lineup Against Las Palmas
Defence
Preferred choice Keylor Navas continues his rehabilitation from injury so we could expect Kiko Casilla in the goal again. Las Palmas don’t have the audacity to score at the Santiago Bernabeu given their current for,m so it could be a much easy affair for the goalkeeper.
Raphael Varane is back from injury and should team up with Sergio Ramos in the backline. The French defender’s absence was clearly felt in the last two matches. Dani Carvajal is also back in the contention for selection but Zinedine Zidane is unlikely to take a risk and Achraf Hakimi should be on the right side of the defence.
Marcelo will be on the right side of the defence.
Midfield
Casemiro didn’t look convincing in the last couple of matches and he needs to put in a strong performance this weekend. Luka Modric will start beside Casemiro in the midfield. The Croatian international has the ability to unlock any defence and his role will be important in this match.
Toni Kroos will do all the pressing and running from the midfield. The German midfielder has been a constant in the starting lineup.
Attack
Isco undoubtedly has been the standout player for Madrid this season. The Spanish international has seen his stocks going upwards and he needs to maintain his form.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema will be the two forwards up front for Zidane’s side. Here is how they might line up:
