Everton would have been disappointed with their finish in the Premier League last season. The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and John Stones were all in impeccable form as Roberto Martinez managed to get the team playing some exciting football but he was not able to finish off games and lost many points from winning positions which in turn cost his job in the summer. Ronald Koeman, the genius who helped Southampton to their best ever Premier League finish in the previous campaign was snapped up by the Merseyside outfit who will expect him to take the club to at least a place in the European competitions.

The new manager has started to stamp his authority on the squad and bought in the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Chris Renshaw, Bassala Sambou and Maarten Stekelenburg to the club this summer and is also looking at other additions to increase depth in the squad. One such player who is on the verge of a move to the Goodison Park is Crystal Palace’s Yannick Bolasie. The attacker has been an integral part of the Palace squad since his move to the Premier League back in 2012. Everton reportedly had a £18m bid rejected by Palace who are expecting close to £30m for their man but is the 27-year old worth his price tag? Should Everton spill the cash for his signature?

Everton have completed a British record deal for John Stones with Manchester City that will see the Merseyside outfit earn more than £47.5m from his signature and though Koeman will have to invest in his defense, a part of the funds might be directed to the signature of Bolasie in the coming days. An exciting winger when at his best, Bolasie is known for his dangerous dribbling abilities that allow him to get the better of almost any opponent. He has frightening pace over the turf and is a natural winger who loves to take on his man. Though he is not a prolific finisher, he finds himself in goal-scoring positions often and could be a decent addition to the Goodison Park outfit.

Ronald Koeman will have his own style of play at Everton next season and Bolasie will fit into it well. The manager will have his team play a high-intensity game with the wingers providing width on either side. This is where the Congolese winger will help the Toffees. He will provide natural width to the squad that will help them stretch defenses while the likes of Tadic and Long can exploit the space in the middle. Bolasie is a player who will fit into Everton with ease. His £30m price tag is on the higher side but such have been the prices for players in the current summer transfer window. At his price Bolasie might be a risk but with his talent and technique, he is a risk worth taking. Do you think Everton should spend big money on the player  this summer?
