Bayern Munich are lining up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio next summer. According to recent reports coming out of Spain, the Spaniard is being linked with a move to Munich with Bayern ready to pounce on his signature. It is believed that Asensio is ready to quit Los Blancos in the summer if he doesn’t get more game time under Zinedine Zidane this season. He is eager to play more first-team football after making just 11 starts in the La Liga during this campaign.
The 22-year-old has managed to score six goals and grab four assists in the league so far and some sources in the Spanish media are now suggesting that he is ready to leave the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium if he doesn’t feature more regularly during the remainder of this campaign.
It is also being reported that Asensio has numerous offers from clubs all across Europe. A whole host of teams are on the hunt for his signature which includes the Premier League trio of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal while Bayern Munich and Juventus are also monitoring his situation in the Spanish capital. The young Spaniard found the back of the net twice in Real Madrid’s 5-3 away win versus Real Betis last weekend and could start in their upcoming league match against Leganes.
The Galacticos are currently occupying 4th place in the La Liga standings, a staggering 17 points behind their rivals and league leaders Barcelona. Zinedine Zidane’s side are in dire need of reinforcements in the summer as they look to bridge the gap between themselves and Barca in the coming years. However, retaining their star players could be even more important for them if they are to build a successful team capable of challenging for trophies in the near future.
It is incredibly significant for the reigning European champions to keep hold of their top talents and there is no doubt that Marco Asensio is one such player who has immense potential to be a Madrid superstar for years to come. He has scored 10 goals and provided 5 assists in 35 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this term. With the Galacticos set to undergo a makeover in the summer, it would be a shame for them if they had to part ways with the talented Spanish midfielder.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Asensio and whether he ends up leaving the Spanish capital in search of greener pastures next summer.
