Newcastle United are not looking in good touch off late in the Premier League, having lost a series of matches recently. Their last match against Arsenal saw no change in the scenario, as the Magpies were beaten by the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium by a 1-0.
With takeover talks looming large over the St. James Park, the Tyneside club are waiting for the January transfer window, with the hope that the new owners of the club will help them to bring in desired reinforcements, by providing them with a big enough war chest. This has prompted the Magpies’ boss Rafa Benitez to look for new players to be inducted in the side, one of them being the Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda.
The 21-year-old has been one of the few youngsters who was not sent on loan by the defending Premier League champions this season. Though he has not seen much of the action so far this season, it is evident that he has great potential to become one of the first team aces in the near future and that has, attracted a number of clubs, who are looking to secure his services in the next transfer window.
The Belgian attacker has made only six appearances so far this season for the West London outfit and is least expected to make it into the starting lineup regularly with the current form of the Blues, who will not be conducive to indulge into experimenting. It will be a good opportunity, nevertheless, for the 21-year-old, to be sent on loan in January in order to gain some much needed first team exposure in the near future.
The flamboyant attacking midfielder has been in the good books of a number of managers in the Premier League and Scottish Premiership and Benitez is no stranger to that. The ex-Chelsea gaffer has an eye for finding talents and Musonda has seemingly impressed him with his quality, having scored two goals as well to show for his efforts in the meagre number of matches he has played for the West London club.
Known for his ability to make darting runs into the heart of the opposition defence, the Belgian youngster can beef up the attack of the Magpies with his pace and agility to a good extent. The performances of the existing forwards in the Newcastle lineup has not been worth mentioning this season and the inclusion of someone like Musonda can be a big boost for the faltering Tyneside club for sure.
