Arsenal welcomed Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Gunners made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the ninth minute when Eberechi Eze found the back of the net with a great strike. Mikel Arteta’s men managed to get to the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Raya made a few solid saves during the game and did enough to secure the clean sheet.

He made two important clearances at the back but offered very little in the final third.

Saliba put his foot through the ball when he could and did enough to secure the shutout this evening.

He performed his defensive duties well and was good on the ball.

He didn’t put a foot wrong defensively and had a couple of lively moments inside the opponent’s half.
CM: Martin Odegaard – 7/10
Odegaard made a few inviting chances for others around him, but there was no goal for him.
CM: Martin Zubimendi – 7.5/10
He anchored the midfield with conviction and ran the show well inside the opponent’s half.
CM: Declan Rice – 6.5/10
Rice put in another tireless performance in the middle of the park.
RW: Noni Madueke – 6/10
He caused some problems for his marker, but never looked like he would score.
ST: Kai Havertz – 7/10
Havertz picked up an assist but had to be replaced in the 33rd minute.
LW: Eberechi Eze – 7.5/10
He was not shy of having a strike at goal and managed to score the only goal of the contest with a brilliant strike in the ninth minute.
