A host of top European clubs are interested in the services of Manchester City youngster Javairo Dilrosun. The teenage star has been in fine form since moving to England in 2014, from his previous club, Ajax. Manchester City could face a difficult task to keep Dilrosun with interest sparking from a host of top clubs including Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and most recently, Liverpool.
According to reports, the Reds are set to make a shocking move for the Manchester City prospect in the upcoming transfer window. This could make him the second Manchester City youth player to leave the club, following Jadon Sancho’s departure to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Liverpool could fancy signing an exciting talent like Dilrosun. The 19-year-old has been one of the most influential players for the City’s youth teams this season and a move elsewhere could also be on the horizon.
While Dilrosun has been a complete star in the English youth divisions, he also impressed with the Dutch youth teams as well. The former Ajax winger has already notched up 15 appearances for the Dutch U-19 team, scoring two goals.
Even though Liverpool pack a lot of punch when it comes to the attacking department, largely thanks to the likes of Sadio Mane, Philipe Coutinho, and Mohamed Salah, the Reds do lack depth in that department. Adam Lallana has recently returned from his long injury layoff but with Coutinho highly expected to leave the Anfield next summer, it makes the Dilrosun signing all the more important.
Not only can he bring depth into Liverpool’s attacking lineup but also provide quality, as the 19-year-old has shown some great promise in the past. Since the departure of Jordan Ibe, the Reds have always lacked someone who can always be an option for them in times of need and in Javairo Dilrosun, Jurgen Klopp could once again have that extra option at his disposal.
Dilrosun has yet to make an appearance for the Manchester City first team, and it’s very unlikely that he will get any in this star-studded City lineup. Therefore, Liverpool, who could offer him the occasional playtime, seems like a logical destination for the former Ajax youngster.
The Reds, too, will be hoping that they can lure the youngster away from the Etihad by offering him a quicker pathway to first-team football.
