West Ham’s dreadful run in the Premier League continues as they were hammered by Liverpool at the Olympic Stadium. The Hammers are to blame for themselves for their individual errors cost them the game. Liverpool was not at their fluent best but punished West Ham ruthlessly for their mistakes that saw them emerge 4-1 winners. Slaven Bilic’s position is now in jeopardy as pressure piles on for the Croatian whose side find themselves hovering over the relegation spots. Here are the player ratings of West Ham.
Joe Hart (6):
Had no luck whatsoever tonight. Was horribly exposed by his front three. Could hardly be blamed for any of Liverpool’s goals.
Cheikhou Kouyaté (5):
He just cannot defend but was forced to slot in at centre back due to West Ham’s injury list.
Winston Reid (4):
Was dragged all over the place by the Liverpool attackers. He just could not contain them and was punished severely. Did not help anyone’s cause by getting booked.
Angelo Ogbonna (5):
Much like his fellow centre-backs, the attackers of Liverpool gave him a torrid time by harassing and pressuring him when on the ball. A sloppy performance.
Edimilson Fernandes (4):
Had a horrible game in both attack and defence. Was rightly taken off at halftime by Slaven Bilic by introducing Andy Carroll.
Pedro Obiang (6):
Had to do a lot of running in order to contain Mane and Salah up top. Probably the best defender tonight for West Ham who gave it his all.
Manuel Lanzini (8):
He was the lone warrior in tonight’s game for West Ham. The only player who looked to have intent and the will to change proceedings. Bagged a goal for his persistence after an excellent touch clinical finish.
Mark Noble (5):
Certainly, a night to think about for the West Ham skipper. Was miles away from being his best. To make things worse, he was booked for simulation.
Aaron Cresswell (4):
Defensively provided no sort of protection for his centre-backs leaving them exposed on a number of occasions. Positioning sense was very poor. Did not have any influence on the attacking side either.
Andre Ayew (6):
Hit the woodwork early on in the game but soon faded away from proceedings. Could do nothing in the final third of the pitch to change the course of the game.
Javier Hernandez (5):
He made all the running and worked his socks off but was left with nothing to show for. Was constantly nagged by Liverpool’s centre-backs who did not give him a moment’s peace.

Andy Carroll (6):
His induction at halftime was a much-needed one. His physical presence was too difficult to handle. For sure made a difference to West Ham after he came on.
Marko Arnautovic (5):
Was well stopped by Liverpool right-back Joe Gomez who stuck closely to him, not allowing him the space to dribble at him.
Diafra Sakho (NA):
Liverpool were out of sight by then and had no say in the game. Had nothing to do to earn a rating.
