Glasgow Rangers have dropped further down to the fourth spot in the Scottish Premiership table with 18 points from ten matches. They are now a solid eight points behind leaders Celtic and will have to try and play an unlikely catch up. It was always going to be difficult to challenge the Hoops at the top and Rangers season has not been the best so far.
Pedro Caixinha yesterday got the axe after another failed result against Kilmarnock with a 1-1 draw that saw Rangers slip a further two points behind Celtic. Rangers returned to action after the international break with a 3-0 win against St. Johnstone, a team that back then was placed directly below them.
The draw against Kilmarnock, however, means that they are now in fourth place, one point behind Motherwell to whom they lost last time out in the Scottish League Cup 2-0 last week. Here is how Rangers will look to line-up with 4-4-2 in the midst of such managerial turmoil:
Defence:
Wes Foderingham is expected to play in goal for the Bluenoses. Ross McCrorie has been decent when called upon and might be partnered with Danny Wilson, who might get his first start of the season. Operating in left back position would be Declan John with the right back spot likely to go to James Tavernier.
Midfield:
Jason Holt is likely to play in the midfield position alongside Jamie Barjonas, who is going to get just his second game. The right winger is expected to be Portuguese Daniel Candeias while Josh Windass is expected to operate on the left flank.
Forward:
Kenny Miller is likely to gain his place on the bench with Carlos Pena and Alfredo Morelos expected to be the two hitman upfront. This is how they might line up:
