West Bromwich Albion are well known for their strong defensive attributes in the Premier League which is one of the major factors behind their success in the last couple of seasons in the top flight. They might be eyeing a few more players to be added to their backline to strengthen it even more and make this season a good one in terms of results.
The Baggies have started their season on a mixed note, winning only two of their first seven matches so far. They have conceded eight goals so far and are in search of a top class left back for some time now.
They have a number of players on their radar and might be on their way to making a bid for the Japanese international Yuto Nagatomo in January.
The 31-year-old is currently plying his trade at the Italian club Inter Milan and this season might be his penultimate one in Serie A. Though Nagatomo has been offered a new contract from his current club, there is every possibility that the player might leave San Siro in the next term and head towards the Premier League.
A number of clubs from all over Europe have been alerted by the player’s indecisiveness over the signing of a new contract, including the Baggies. The Japanese international has a lot of experience and can be a very good addition to the Premier League outfit, helping in their bid to finish in the top half of the league table once again after the last season.
The wily full-back has been a part of the Serie A club since 2011 and has featured in more than 200 matches for them so far. His darting runs down the left flank and his ability to keep the opposition players away from his box, has made him one of the most wanted players over the last few years in European football and Inter Milan might not be looking to offload him anytime soon.
However, West Bromwich Albion will try their level best to get the player into their squad this January, knowing that they might have to fight with some of the top teams in Europe to get their hands on the desired candidate.
Hopefully, it will give them the impetus to make their backline stronger for the future and help them to add some flair while initiating counter attacks on the opposition as well. So should the Baggies go all in for the 31-year old
