Two Merseyside clubs will reportedly battle it out for the signature Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes, according to reports. The Dutchman has been a vital part of Spartak’s success in the past few years and Everton boss Ronald Koeman will want to secure the services of his compatriot in the January transfer window. Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested.
Everton have struggled in the attacking department this season and are lavishing at the bottom end of the Premier League table, despite flushing out loads of cash this summer. The Toffees lack someone who can add flair in the attacking third. The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Davy Klaassen have done well to bring more creativity but it’s the end product which is lacking at the moment, following the departure of Romelu Lakaku.
Quincy Promes has been identified as the main target for Everton in the January transfer window. New Everton scout recruit, Pavel Kucherov, who moved to the Goodison after leaving Emirates, has raved about Promes while speaking to Express.
Naturally a winger, Quincy Promes brings much more than just flair in the final third. While pace and trickery is undoubtedly his greatest asset in the offensive department, Promes’ willingness to join in with the forwards is what makes him a feared attacker among the opposition defenders.
Wayne Rooney is not able to provide the offensive thrust anymore and the constant failures of new signing Sandro Ramirez could pave way for Quincy Promes to make a telling impact at Goodison Park.
Not only is the winger comfortable playing on either flank but he is also a two-footed attacker, which is sure to lend him an advantage in the attack. He can also prove to be an upgrade to Kevin Mirallas on the wings.
Furthermore, he is a capable crosser of the ball and has been among Spartak’s most prolific creators over the last two seasons.Quincy Promes likes to blend in with the attackers inside the box at times, which can be very handful for an Everton side struggling to score goals.
More or less resembling the elusive qualities of German superstar Marco Reus, Promes is a precious commodity for the Russian outfit and him moving to the Goodison could spark up Everton’s offensive department.
