Watford have found life pleasant in this ongoing campaign. Marco Silva’s influence on the side has been majestic as the Portuguese manager has implied a new strategy at the Vicarage Road. Since he took charge, the Hornets have come with some outrageous performances and barring a loss against Manchester City, they are on a dream run in this season.
Coach Marco Silva might look for some reinforcements in January when the transfer window opens again. According to reports, Watford are considering a move for Lille midfielder Yves Bissouma. The Mali international has been in the thick of the things at the French club and his rapid rise has attracted a clutch of top clubs.
The 21-year-old is pretty ideal for the rugged nature of the Premier League and his combativeness in the middle of the pitch would be a bonus for the Hornets should he come at the Vicarage Road. He kicked off his French adventure for Lille’s second team but following his impressive performances for the reserves, he made a rapid climb to the senior team.
In the previous season, he featured in 23 games for the Ligue 1 giants and he followed up his showings this season also as he has started in five matches. Inter Milan have also been hot on the heels of the player as gaffer Lucian Spalletti is said to be an avid admirer of the player. Bissouma extended his contract this year till 2019 but the Serie-A giants have been chasing the player for quite a while.
Watford have a pretty enviable lineup of midfielders but there has been a dearth of productivity in the centre of the pitch which needs to be rectified. With the Premier League approaching its crucial juncture, Silva has to be very astute with his strategies and having a midfielder like Bissouma would only ease his task.
The player has all the necessary techniques to be an instant on English soil. He is very good with his techniques and can move the ball with utter perfection. He has also racked up 12 appearances for Mali.
It will be too soon to jump to a conclusion, but the young midfielder could be an asset for the future and Watford should be well aware of that. The Mali international’s dynamism in the midfield could be the opportunity for him to show his quality if he does arrive in the Premier League. So is he an option for the Hornets?
