It seems that the reigning Premier League champions Chelsea are not yet playing as per their full potential this season, which has let them down on several occasions already. They have lost two of their very crucial matches this season, in their very first match against Burnley and then in their last encounter against Manchester City, apart from playing out a lacklustre draw against city rivals Arsenal in their own backyard.
The Blues are well aware of the fact that if they need to hang on to their hard-earned Premier League title, which they clinched in the last term, they will have to start getting more competitive and challenging in their approach, to help their cause and fight for it in the future. However, they might have to add a few more players to their side as well this winter and are ready to spill the cash if the situation calls for it.
As per reports, Chelsea are looking to strengthen their side even further with the inclusion of a number of players to the side and have their eyes on the Chilean superstar Arturo Vidal. The Copa America winner is currently rated as one of the best midfielders in Europe and is plying his trade for the reigning German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old made his way into the Bayern Munich lineup in 2015, having spent a pretty significant span of his career at the Juventus Stadium. He also played for the Bayer Leverkusen side in the past and as a result, possesses enough knowledge about the German clubs, which helped him to settle down at the Allianz Arena without much ado.
However, things have not gone the way the Bavarians had expected as far as this season is concerned, which has in no way helped their title defence and has also led to the sacking of their coach Carlo Ancelotti just a few days ago. This tumultuous situation at his current club is blamed to have affected the Chilean star in a very adverse way and he might be looking to join another club in the next transfer window.
Chelsea are taking this as an opportunity to rope him in and help their cause to revive their position in the title race this season. If the deal comes to life, it can be a big catch for the West London club in the bid for finishing another season at the top of the table in the Premier League.
