Crystal Palace are presently having the worst start of the season in the history of the Premier League, being the first team to lose all their first seven matches of the season without scoring a single goal. They have now conceded as many as 17 goals already this season and are tottering on the last position in the league table, with the possibility of an acrimonious exit looming large over them at the end of the season.
However, the Eagles are not yet giving up hope and are gearing up to revamp their team for the matches in the future. They are eyeing a number of players who might give them the much-needed impetus to turn their season around by scoring goals and helping themselves out of the situation they are currently in.
Reportedly, the Premier League club are interested in the Spanish forward Paco Alcacer, who is presently playing for the former La Liga champions Barcelona. The 24-year-old has failed to establish himself as an integral part of the team since his arrival at Nou Camp in 2016 and there is a possibility of him leaving the side in the next transfer window.
The player has been far from his brilliant form that he displayed for his former club Valencia and has fallen down the pecking order in the Catalan side. The Spanish striker made 124 appearances for Los Murcielagos and scored 43 goals for them, making him a fan favourite in quick time. However, he failed to deliver the same way for the Blaugrana and might be on verge of parting ways with them.
Crystal Palace are in search of a genuine striker who can play week after week without much fuss and can score for them on regular basis. With the Barcelona forward looking for a new club, there might be an opportunity for the Eagles to get the former Valencia striker into their side in January.
The 24-year-old has failed to impress at his current club and has scored only eight goals so far for the former Spanish champions. A potential move to the Premier League club might be beneficial for both the parties as they might come up to compliment each other in the perfect way and have a head start for the rest of their season.
However, the fast-paced style of English football might be tough for the Spaniard to handle, as he has no prior experience of playing in the aforementioned league. After all the plight of Soldado at Spurs comes to mind.
