However, the story might not be the same, as the Spurs are already in pursuit of a new full back, who can step up as a replacement for their departed right back Kyle Walker after the Englishman went on to join Manchester City for the next season. The North London club have their eyes on a number of players from all over Europe and have shortlisted a few for adding to their side in the summer transfer market.
One such player is Jeremy Toljan, who is currently playing for the German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim and is known to be one of the most exciting prospects of German football currently. The 22-year-old had an impressive season with his club in the last term and might make a move to a big name club before the start of the next season.
The German youngster has been a star for his national team as well and helped them to win the recently concluded Under 21 Championship. The highly rated player has attracted the attention from a number of big name clubs from all over Europe, including the likes of Tottenham and Portuguese Primeira Liga champions Benfica, who want to bag him for the next season.
The Spurs, however, might have the upper hand in this race, as they have their funds intact, having not spent a single penny in the transfer market so far. Moreover, they have gained £45 million from the transfer deal of Kyle Walker, which will surely help them find an able replacement.
The 22-year-old is known for his brilliant pace while running into the heart of the opposition defence and creating opportunities for his teammates by providing them with key passes in the right area at the right time. He has an ability to play as a right back as well as a left back, which he has done on most occasions throughout his career.
However, he might have to face tough competition from the current first choice full back of the Tottenham side, Kieran Trippier, in case he makes a move to the North London club. Is he the right man for the Spurs?
