Champions Leicester City grabbed their first points of the campaign with a goalless draw at the King Power against last season’s runner-up Arsenal. Leicester did well to keep a clean sheet and Claudio Ranieri would be happy with the performances of his players in general with the exception of the forward line. Let’s see how the players did in the game on a scale of 10.
Kasper Schmeichel (7/10)
Was equal to the task whenever he was called into action. Showed good concentration and technique. A real asset for his team
Danny Simpson (6.5/10)
Made good overlapping runs and was also very good in defending his flank against Oxlade-Chamberlain. Gave a solid performance.
Wes Morgan (8/10)
Wasn’t troubled a lot by the poor Alexis Sanchez but did make his presence felt with some wonderful tackles and clearances. Played like a captain leading the team from the back.
Robert Huth (8/10)
Came back into the squad in place of Luis Hernandez and made the difference by imparting the stability which they lacked on the opening weekend. Stood tall and strong thwarting several opposition attacks, was a big reason behind the clean sheet like his partner Morgan.
Christian Fuchs (7/10)
Very solid defensively. Wasn’t able to influence much in the attacking sense but dealt with the threat of Walcott and Alexis when he moved wide very well.
Nampalys Mendy (7/10)
He gave an excellent performance before he was forced to go off with an ankle injury. Won the battle against Cazorla and rendered him ineffectual which affected Arsenal’s attacking game greatly.
Danny Drinkwater (8/10)
The England midfielder gave another commanding all-round performance for Leicester. Provided the cover to the defence when needed and also assisted in the team’s forward drives. Was very good in the second half, winning back possession regularly and passing smartly to release players on the counter.
Mark Albrighton (6/10)
Did his job well on the flanks and was good with his passing but couldn’t provide the penetration in the attacking phase. Played a bit conservatively at times but did well to occupy Bellerin reducing his threat on the overlaps.
Riyad Mahrez (8/10)
Was the bright spark for the visitors going forward. Looks like he is slowly coming back to his best. Created chances with his skills and trickery and had a shot well saved by Cech in the closing stages.
Shinji Okazaki (6/10)
Worked very hard but didn’t have much in terms of chances. Won many loose balls around the box but couldn’t do much with it.
Jamie Vardy (5/10)
Looked rash with his finishing and couldn’t do anything notable in terms of attack other than using his pace to hurry the defenders. Was stopped by the duo of Koscielny and Holding.

Andy King (6/10)
Came on for Mendy and did his job very well. Assisted the team a bit more in the attacking phase than Mendy.
Ahmed Musa (6/10)
Looked threatening with his pace and movement once he came on. Could have easily won a penalty against Bellerin. Musa is a great addition for Leicester squad, looks a perfect fit for Ranieri’s team.
Leonardo Ulloa (6/10)
Provided the presence upfront needed but didn’t get the ball much coming on for the last 25 minutes.
