Rangers had to remain content with merely a couple of points in their last two league outings in the Scottish Premiership as they shared points with Motherwell and Kilmarnock.
Pedro Caixinha’s tenure ever since taking over the charges at the Ibrox Stadium is yet to kick off in a scintillating manner as the Gers are still far from consolidating their stature which they were once accustomed to.
Currently placed 3rd on the league table with 52 points from 31 outings, Rangers make a trip to the Pittodrie Stadium where 2nd placed outfit in the shape of Aberdeen would be hosting the Glasgow giants.
The Dons are 8 points ahead of Rangers and at the onset, the encounter between these two sides on Sunday promises to be a tight one. Here is how Caixinha might roll out his starting line-up for a very crucial match away from home.
Defence
Wes Foderingham has been exceptional with the gloves so far this term and there is no reason why he should not be getting yet another start between the sticks against Aberdeen.
To be stationed at the heart of the defence of the Light Blues would be David Bates and Danny Wilson.
While James Tavernier should continue taking his place in the right-back slot, Myles Beerman should find himself in the starting line-up on the left.
Plotting the defensive setup is a major cause of concern for the Portuguese and his men at the back would have a massive task of keeping Derek McInnes’ men quiet.
Midfield
Grant Halt should be the lynchpin in the middle of the park as he needs to create a fine balance between his offensive and defensive endeavours and his partner is likely to be Andy Halliday.
Their combination has worked well and the former Al Gharafa boss would wish for the continuation of the same.
Attack
To start from the no. 10 slot should be Emerson Hyndman to inject a lot of creativity and goal scoring chances through the middle. Martyn Waghorn is likely to be engineered on the left wing whereas, on the right wing, we should see the talented Barrie McKay starting the proceedings.
Right up front, Kenny Miller should be given a nod by Caixinha over Joe Garner owing to the truckloads of experience he possesses and also considering that the fixture is a very important one.
