The upcoming week of the Premier League has a lot to deliver. After two weeks of International break, the most watched football League is set to resume action. A number of interesting matches are in the fray and one simply cannot afford to miss this week’s matches.
Arsenal will host Manchester City to revive their form while Everton will visit Liverpool to avenge their 1-0 loss in the reverse fixture. A lot will be at stake when Swansea will entertain Middlesbrough as this tie could virtually decide who is going to finish higher up on the table. Manchester United will take on West Bromwich Albion in an attempt to maintain their long unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Three Players To Watch Out For In This Week’s Action
Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal have suffered a series of unexpected results which has created enormous pressure on Arsene Wenger. The veteran gaffer is rumoured to have been offered a new deal to remain the manager for further two seasons but he hasn’t divulged anything yet. Wenger will be looking for an absolutely top performance from his team and the return of Alexis Sanchez would be a boost for the veteran gaffer. Sanchez was at his usual best for Chile as he grabbed a goal an assist to his name in the last match.
Consecutive defeats against Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion has dropped the Gunners to sixth place. They have dropped a significant number of points against the lower sides like Middlesbrough and Watford which has haunted them like anything. Sanchez had a row with Wenger earlier but he won’t let that affect his performance in the match. The Chilean winger has been one of the most standout performers of this Gunners side and will take his chance to exploit the mistake of the Manchester City defence.
John Stones
Pep Guardiola might have to end the campaign empty-handed. Manchester City crashed out of the Champions League after their defence’s vulnerability got exposed by a severe Monaco attack. They also have fallen out of the title race as Chelsea have taken a humongous 12 points lead. However, amongst the positives, John Stones, the ex-Everton centre-back who joined the club from summer has emerged as the most improved defenders of late.
The England international had his earlier difficulties in implementing Guardiola’s strategy but has coped up with a bit of improvement in his game. The gaffer always gives preference to a ball playing defender and Stones has started to flourish under him.
Fernando Llorente
Swansea City are currently juggling with relegation and the next match is very important regarding their pursuit to stay in the English top tier. The Spanish striker is in fine nick and he has found the net on an impressive 11 times for the Swans.
Middlesbrough are a very disciplined defensive side and Swansea needs to find goals early on. Swansea have somehow lost the plot after two back to back defeats but Paul Clement’s side has to utilise the limited resources they have to get past a stringent Boro.
