In what seems to be the most obvious statement in the world, Kyle Bartley has revealed that he wouldn’t mind if Swansea City allows him to join Leeds United permanently in the summer. The 25-year-old is currently plying his trade with the Championship side on loan.
The 25-year-old has been a mainstay in the Leeds Udefenseefence alongside Pontus Jansson. The defender came through the ranks at Arsenal and had a number of a loan spell at various clubs. The English player has formed a formidable partnership at the heart of the Leeds United defense this term and has racked up 32 appearances in the Championship.
The Whites will take on Sheffield Wednesday in a very crucial encounter on Saturday and they can’t afford any further blunder. Bartley who is expected to be at the helm of the Whites’ defence has expressed his desire to make his move permanent.
“Leeds has been great for me, the fans have really got behind me and I love all the players and the staff.
“If Swansea are willing to let me leave that would definitely be something I would be interested in.
“I’m contracted to Swansea.
“I have a lot of respect for the club and the chairman so I’m not in a position to say [what’s going to happen].”
Leeds made Bartley’s centre back partner Jansson’s move permanent and they are trying hard to do the same for Bartley. Not only in the defence but he has impressed with his attacking attributes also as the versatile defender has four goals in his tally so far this season.
The former England U-17 international has been very consistent for Garry Monk’s side and his stability in the Leeds defence is one of the main reason why Leeds are doing excellent this season.
The Whites will go into the match with 58 points and a win against Carvalhal’s side will renew their hopes of definitely finishing in the play-offs position.
But everything is depending on how Swansea City performs. If they get relegated this season they might not release the player as he would be a great addition to the Welsh club in the Championship.
