Liverpool welcomed Manchester City at Anfield earlier today as they looked to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a slow start to the game but managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Dominik Szoboszlai gave Arne Slot’s men the lead in the 74th minute. Bernardo Silva equalised for the Mancunian giants in the 84th minute. Erling Haaland scored the winner for Man City from the penalty spot in injury time before Dominik Szoboszlai was sent off by the referee in the dying embers of the game as the Reds suffered a tough 2-1 loss at Anfield.

The Brazilian keeper made his fair share of saves during the game, but conceded a cheap penalty late in the game.
RB: Dominik Szoboszlai – 7/10
He made a positive impact on both ends of the field. Szoboszlai scored with an excellent free-kick in the 74th minute but was sent off late in the game for dragging Haaland down.
CB: Ibrahima Konate – 6.5/10
Konate performed his defensive duties well and allowed two goals late in the game.
CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 6/10
He put his foot through the ball when he could, but failed to keep things solid at the back.

LB: Milos Kerkez – 6.5/10
Kerkez worked his socks off on the left flank and kept things solid defensively.
CM: Ryan Gravenberch – 6.5/10
He caught the eye at times on both halves.
CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 6/10
Mac Allister failed to offer enough cover for his backline but made two good chances in the final third. He went close to scoring with his deflected attempt late in the game.
RW: Mohamed Salah – 6/10
He got himself into some promising areas in the final third but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
CAM: Florian Wirtz – 6/10
Wirtz made one good chance in the final third but missed a good opportunity to find the back of the net.
LW: Cody Gakpo – 7/10
He caused some headaches for his marker, but there was no goal for him.
ST: Hugo Ekitike – 6/10
Ekitike had a few lively moments in the game but failed to threaten the Man City goal.
