After a couple of defeats against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City, Leeds United returned to winning ways after registering a 2-1 win over Bristol City on Wednesday. Garry Monk’s troops will be keen to get the momentum going when they face Ipswich Town this weekend.
Leeds have rightly been in the scheme of things as far as earning a ticket to the Premier League is concerned as after 32 games, they find themselves fifth in the league table with 57 points and although an automatic promotion spot appears to be a far cry, a playoff spot is seemingly likely for Leeds United.
Although the intense test is far from giving out a final verdict, it would not be irrelevant to underline that Monk has dealt with the baptism of fire in a pretty good fashion. He might not have had the luxury of a dozen of relatively sensational names in his ranks but has indeed pulled the best out of what he has without making a fuss about it. Nonetheless, his bench strength will be stretched in the business end of the season end of the campaign and his main men must keep up the good work.
Ipswich Town wouldn’t mind being the protagonists or the party spoilers and Monk & co. should be wary of the Tractor Boys. For this weekend, here is our Leeds United predicted line-up to face Ipswich Town.
Defence
Right at the heart of the Peacocks’ defence, the resilient pair of Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley are expected to get a nod. Luke Ayling is likely to be stationed in the right-back slot and Gaetano Berardi on the left. With the gloves, we expect Robert Green to guard the goal.
Midfield
Eunan O’Kane is expected to team up with skipper Liam Bridcutt at the central midfield zone as the latter is available after a one-match ban to form a double pivot. Kemar Roofe is supposed to steer the side through his no. 10 role with two wingers in the shape of Alfonso Pedraza and Pablo Hernandez being stationed on the left and right wing, respectively.
Attack
Chris Wood has been the Whites’ go-to man up front and found himself on the scoresheet once again in his side’s 2-1 over the Robins. In 31 appearances for Leeds United so far this term, the New Zealand international has piled up 19 goals and an assist and should start this weekend as well.
