Everton’s season has shown both hesitation and purpose. The club has made small but noticeable moves in the transfer market, including an €8m (£7m) offer for Nice defender Kojo Peprah, but they still need more attacking strength.
Richarlison’s name, once an anthem at Goodison Park, now circles the blue half of Merseyside again. Former Tottenham and Manchester United scout Mick Brown said the Brazilian forward could leave Spurs if he finds the right opportunity.
Everton are still interested in Richarlison
Thomas Frank uses Richarlison in a mixed way. He has played every Premier League game this season and started five of them. The Brazilian has also started in all Champions League fixtures. Tottenham’s strong start keeps them in third place, five points behind Arsenal, yet Richarlison hasn’t secured the number nine spot.
Newcastle exposed his inconsistency in the Carabao Cup defeat, especially when Dominic Solanke missed the game. Brown said Everton still rate him and could make a move for him if they think he improves their current options. However, Frank may not see him as a fixed part of his plan. If Frank keeps rotating him, he might choose a club that offers regular football instead.
“I’m told Richarlison is still very highly thought of at Everton.”
“Personally, he never seems to command a place in the starting XI with any sort of certainty, he’s not consistent enough to be a regular number nine.”
“But that’s a decision for the powers that be to decide, and if they look at him and think he would be an improvement on what they’ve got at the moment, they could make a move.”
“Not being quite good enough to start every week for Tottenham doesn’t necessarily come into it, it’s about whether he’s an improvement for Everton.”
“They want to sign a new striker, because the current two have not been good enough.”
“Richarlison isn’t the only one they’re looking at, they will have a few options on their radar.”
“In terms of his future at Tottenham, if he’s going to be in and out of the side and not getting consistent starts, he might have a few questions about his place in the team.”
“Interest from teams like Everton, who could offer him more regular starts, could tempt him to make a move.”
“If that is the case, he’ll speak to Frank and Tottenham about what his role is in their plans, and if he’s not going to be a regular starter, maybe he could move on.”
“Then, it will just be about the price tag and whether Spurs will let him go.”
Should Everton Go Back For Richarlison?

Emotion should tempt Everton, but feelings don’t win football matches. Their attack lacks spark, but bringing back Richarlison may not fix that issue. The 28-year-old striker moves with energy, but he finishes poorly, and he often breaks the rhythm of quick counters. The Toffees create too few chances from midfield, and paying for a striker who depends on service could make their attack weaker.
They should aim for variety. They have shown interest in Takefusa Kubo, which shows they understand the need for a creative wide player who can stretch defences and add intelligence to attacks. Kubo runs sharply and controls the ball in tight spaces, which would help Everton control games better. Pairing him with a reliable finisher would bring stronger long-term results than re-signing Richarlison.
Everton still need to fix their defence, which explains why they want Peprah. Spending big on an inconsistent striker while the backline stays fragile would repeat old errors. Bringing Richarlison back would excite fans, but tactically it makes little sense. Everton should focus on balance and build a side that shares responsibility instead of leaning on one familiar name again.
