According to Caught Offside, Arsenal have been closely monitoring Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor for several months. The Premier League club are highly interested in signing the youngster as they look to improve the midfield unit.
The case of Kenneth Taylor
Kenneth Taylor came through the Ajax academy and made his debut in 2020. Since then, he has been on an improving roll. He has established himself as a mainstay in the squad and is considered one of the best talents across Europe.
Taylor is having a great time on the field this season, in which he has already netted six goals and provided four assists in 21 games. He is averaging 1.3 shots, 1.1 key passes, and 0.3 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Dutch midfielder is an extremely talented player who is equally good in both the attacking and defensive aspects of the game. He is always calm on the ball and can don different roles in the middle of the park. Notably, he also has good speed and high stamina.
Kenneth Taylor is a player for the present and the future
Arsenal are probably looking for a midfielder in the market to target in the January window. While they have been linked to Martin Zubimendi recently, his pursuit seems tough. The player is dedicated to Real Sociedad and might not prefer moving to the English giant.
Hence, the Gunners have turned their focus towards Kenneth Taylor. The Dutch midfielder’s versatility and qualities will be well-suited in Mikel Arteta‘s system. He will surely improve their midfield unit and help them win titles.
The 22-year-old will also be a long-term replacement and a more financially feasible target than Zubimendi. While Ajax wouldn’t want to lose their hot property, the report states that the Dutch outfit will have little hesitation to let the player go if any offer arrives around €35m.
