After settling for a 1-1 draw against Chelsea at home in the Premier League on Sunday, Manchester United are preparing for their next challenge. It lies against PAOK in the Europa League at the English club’s home ground, Old Trafford.
The Red Devils haven’t tasted a win in the Europa League this season so far. They have three draws in three outings and are placed in 13th position on the points table. Hence, they would want to register their first win in the competition on Thursday night.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup Vs PAOK
Defence
It will be interesting to see if Altay Bayindir will get some game time or not. If not, Andre Onana will start between the sticks as usual. Right-back Diogo Dalot didn’t have a good display against Chelsea and would like to show some form.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is unlikely to change the centre-back duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez. Both Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are unavailable to participate in the clash. Noussair Mazraoui was a standout performer against the Blues and should continue as the left-back.
Midfield
Manuel Ugarte looked sloppy and he needs to step up immediately. In the absence of Kobbie Mainoo, he is unlikely to face any punishment. To accompany him in the middle of the park, Casemiro is the front runner for sure.
Attack
Captain Bruno Fernandes made some good passes but was unlucky to see them go to waste. He will once again operate in the middle with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford operating on the wings. The Argentine wasn’t clinical on Sunday night and will be desperate to find the back of the net.
Rasmus Hojlund is expected to lead the line for the game. He did win a penalty which was ultimately converted by Fernandes. But apart from that he needs to contribute more directly.
