Manchester City will entertain Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday evening as they look to secure a victory at home in the Premier League. The Mancunian club managed to secure an impressive 3-1 win over Copenhagen recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Pep Guardiola will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first team for this game. Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes will get a chance to play from the start of this contest.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Ederson will be named in between the sticks for Man City after he allowed one goal in his last appearance. Ruben Dias will resume his defensive partnership with John Stones at the centre of the Man City backline as they look to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
Kyle Walker will operate as the right-back while Nathan Ake fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Manuel Akanji will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Rodri and Matheus Nunes will anchor the midfield for the home team as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Jeremy Doku, Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden will play just ahead of them as part of the Man City attack. All three of them would be eager to impress for Man City on the offensive end of the field.
Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the latter stages if required.
Attack
Erling Haaland will spearhead Guardiola’s attack in the final third. The Norway international would be keen on finding the back of the net after failing to do so in midweek.
Julian Alvarez will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
