German Bundesliga has always been the factory of producing fine talents who go on to become the superstars in due course of time. Many also attract interest from various parts of the world to ply their trade and one of the latest outputs from the German soil is Mark-Alexander Uth who has been under the scrutiny after being linked to two Premier League outfits in the shape of Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
We have compiled a brief SWOT Analysis of Mark-Alexander Uth to let our viewers decipher the basic details about this rapidly rising player.
Strengths
Uth is a striker with an inbuilt knack to score goals and has venomous poaching abilities which make him a dream striker for any top club. He isn’t merely a flat-track bully who scores only against teams of inferior stature. Rather, he racks up goals against various sides he faces. The 1899 Hoffenheim frontman is very quick, light-footed and agile up front and is a pretty hard striker to be marked.
Further, he never refrains from dropping some yards off the top and allowing the attacking midfielders to get his support. He also keeps drifting in the final third, thus stretching the opponents’ defence which allows Hoffenheim to breach them. It has to be mentioned that Uth is a complete package and sets up goals for his teammates as well. So far this season, he has made 10 appearances, scoring 5 goals and bagging an assist in the process, apart from creating 11 chances, which advocate as to why he is so highly rated in the German Bundesliga.
Weaknesses
Consistency is one of the aspects where Uth needs to work on. The 25-year-old has suffered from an erratic form in his career which dents his credentials. Moreover, his passing isn’t the best in the lot as his average pass accuracy is 70% and many a time, he squanders the ball up front which allows the opponents to ignite their counter-attacks. Apart from these, discipline is also a key area he needs to address in order to draw admiration from far and wide.
Opportunities
Claude Puel, as well as Mauricio Pochettino, is very good at shaping the careers of players and the former 1. FC Köln striker shall be a welcomed commodity in either of the two clubs. Uth appears to be a player who can cater to the needs of a top quality side and he will get the opportunity to learn from many of the greats of the business. The left-footed attacker is a serial goal-scoring machine and considering the limelight Premier League offers to its players, he can aim to pave his way into the German national side with a series of stupendous performances.
Threats
Though the pastures might seem very green from the distance, the reality is quite harsh on the English soil. Week in and week out, intense hostility is offered on the tray and the threat of being exposed and exploited in the Premier League always comes alongside player’s entry. Uth hasn’t been into a top quality side and it would be interesting to see how he operates once the heat is on him, if a deal materialises.
