In a recent post on The Daily Briefing, journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that West Ham United are eyeing a move for Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy. It has been claimed that the Hammers were eager to recruit the talented forward in January but failed to do so.
Guirassy’s Impressive Form In Bundesliga
Guirassy has enjoyed a brilliant campaign at the German club after putting in plenty of productive displays as the focal point of their attack. The Guinea international has featured in 16 matches for Stuttgart this season, scoring 19 times and earning two assists across multiple competitions.
The Arles-born attacker has given a good account of himself in the final third as he is averaging 3.4 shots, 1.7 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per game in Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when linking up play with others around him in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 82.4% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the German club will run out in the summer of 2026. Therefore, West Ham will have to make a good offer if they are serious about signing Guirassy later this year.
Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Go For Guirassy?
Guirassy can engineer a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can shoot the ball purely and with power from all ranges. The Guinea sensation has proven himself to be a capable finisher in front of the opponent’s goal. He can also create the odd chance for his teammates and is a good dribbler with the ball as well. However, only time will tell whether the talented frontman can make a smooth transition to life in England.
We can expect someone with Guirassy’s skillset to add more firepower to West Ham head coach David Moyes’ attack. He has what it takes to rival Michail Antonio for a regular starting spot at the East London club over the next few seasons.
At 27, Guirassy is about to enter the peak stage of his playing career which makes him a decent choice for the Hammers to consider at the end of this campaign. With all things considered, Moyes should go for a striker of Guirassy’s quality when the transfer window reopens later this year.
