Manchester United will welcome Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Tuesday night as they try to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Red Devils crashed to a 2-0 defeat away at West Ham United recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
Erik ten Hag will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make some changes to his first team for this home clash. Diogo Dalot and Raphael Varane are expected to play from the start of this game.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Aston Villa
Defence
Andre Onana will operate in between the sticks for the Mancunian giants after conceding two goals in his last league appearance. Raphael Varane, who is a slight concern ahead of this game, will resume his defensive partnership with Jonny Evans at the centre of Man United’s backline as they look to keep the opposition at bay during the game.
Diogo Dalot will function as the right-back while Luke Shaw hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to be at their best if they want to limit the Aston Villa wide players from creating too many problems from the wide areas.
Sergio Reguilon will provide cover for the left-back position on the bench.
Midfield
Scott McTominay and Sofyan Amrabat will operate as the holding midfielders as they look to dictate the tempo of the game in the middle of the park. The gifted trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Antony will function just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack. All of them need to combine well if they want to create enough chances for Man United to win this home game.
Facundo Pellistri will be available for selection on the bench and might come to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
Attack
Marcus Rashford will spearhead Man United’s attack up top. He has to find a way to threaten the Aston Villa goal during the 90 minutes.
Rasmus Hojlund has to settle for a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if needed.
