Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. Spurs made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 22nd minute when Giovani Lo Celso found the back of the net. Pau Torres equalised for the Villans in the dying embers of the first half as the two sides went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
Ollie Watkins put the visitors ahead in the 61st minute with a decent finish. Angelos Postecoglu’s men failed to mount a comeback and crashed to a lackluster 2-1 defeat in front of their home fans.

He made some solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet in both halves.

The Spaniard made two important defensive contributions and managed to engineer some decent chances for his teammates from the right flank. He has got an assist to show for his efforts.

He looked shaky on the defensive end of the pitch but was accurate with his ball distribution.
CB: Ben Davies – 7/10
Davies did his fair share of defending and was a strong presence in the air.
LB: Destiny Udogie – 6.5/10
He performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.
CM: Rodrigo Bentancur – 6.5/10
Bentancur made a good start to the game but had to be replaced in the 31st minute.
CM: Giovani Lo Celso – 8/10
He came back to defend when needed and scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute.
RW: Ben Johnson – 6.5/10
Johnson caught the eye at times but failed to register a goal.
CAM: Dejan Kulusevski – 8/10
He was a constant menace in the final third and did everything but score today.
LW: Bryan Gil – 6.5/10
The Spaniard made a few decent runs with the ball but failed to trouble the opponent’s goal.
ST: Heung-min Son – 6.5/10
Son was a real threat up top and had three goals chalked off by VAR.
