In a recent report, Calciomercato mentioned that Brighton are showing interest in Genoa defender Radu Dragusin. It has been stated that the Seagulls are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Romanian talent but could face competition in the form of AC Milan in the race to land him.
Dragusin’s Decent Run Of Form In Serie A
The 21-year-old is having an impressive season at the Italian club as he has put in a series of dominant displays for them on the defensive end of the field. Dragusin has registered one goal and one assist in 14 appearances for Genoa during this campaign across all competitions.
The Romanian sensation has been a decent performer at the back based on his average of 0.8 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 5.2 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been careful when distributing possession from inside his half as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.7% in the Italian top flight (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at Genoa will expire in the summer of 2027 which would make it difficult for the Seagulls to snap him up in the upcoming January transfer window.
Brighton Are Showing Interest In Dragusin: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Dragusin is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to make some timely interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back.
The Romanian whizkid is primarily a central defender but can also fill in as a right-back or as a left-back if asked to do so. At 21, he has the potential to become a generational talent as long as he continues to improve with each year.
We can expect Dragusin to add more quality to Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi’s first XI. He might even help the Seagulls compete across all fronts in the coming seasons. De Zerbi could be the perfect man to oversee Dragusin’s development and unlock the best out of him in the long run.
All in all, the Romanian defensive ace is no doubt a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Brighton should go all out to recruit him next year.
