In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Aston Villa are set to reignite their interest in Villarreal ace Alex Baena. It has been claimed that the Villans are hoping to acquire the services of the Spanish attacker in the winter transfer window after failing to sign him earlier this year.

The 22-year-old has managed to impress with his contributions for Villarreal in the final third. Baena has scored one goal and secured four assists in ten appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season across various competitions.
The Spanish talent has been a reliable performer in the opposition half as he is averaging 2.5 shots and 2.4 key passes per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 81.4% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
Baena is under contract at the Spanish club until the summer of 2028. Thus, the Villans will have to launch a sizable offer if they want to bring the Spaniard on board this January.
